As lockdown eases and more businesses begin to open, cleaning is going to play an important role in running a safe office during the COVID 19 pandemic.

Soon employees will start to trickle back into the workplace, but they may feel anxious about returning to the office and to overcome these fears, it’s important you clearly communicate to your staff the procedures you are taking to ensure their safety.

There are a number of steps you should take to ensure your workplace is compliant with COVID-19 guidelines, and to keep your staff as safe as possible. To begin with, we recommend you start strong with a deep clean and then you’ll need to continue to keep the hygiene levels high with regular office cleaning.

We recommend following a schedule as the best way to maintain the hygiene of your office and the health of your staff. To create a cleaning schedule, it helps to look through your office one room at a time and note the high-touch areas in each, as these will be typical hotspots that transmit bacteria and viruses.

Here are a few examples of high touch areas we recommend concentrating on:

Elevator buttons / Doorknobs / Light switches / Grab rails in corridors and stairwells / Appliance handles and controls / Cabinet pulls and push plates

Coming up with a schedule is a great first step in promoting a healthier office, but once done it’s important to make a healthy environment part of the culture within the office.

Your employees will most likely be familiar by now with correct handwashing guidance, but it is good practice to remind them with signs near hand wash stations in the toilets and kitchen area. You could also encourage the use of sanitiser by setting up hand sanitiser stations at key locations in your building, like the entrance.

If this is all sounding a bit overwhelming, then we can help. We have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality professional commercial cleaning and in addition to our standard cleaning service we can also disinfect frequently touched areas with the use of a maximum strength cleaning solution which has been proven to kill viruses.

We look forward to hearing from you
